Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar was an American and British sitar artist. She was also the youngest and first woman to be awarded an award from the British House of Commons Award. Anoushka Shakar, a young emerging superstar on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is a student as well as sister of Ravi Shankar. She was born in London in 1982. During her first years she split her time between London New Delhi. When she arrived in New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years old. Later she moved in Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha is an aspiring young lady, however she's got an remarkable career in the field of singing and recording. She regularly accompanies her father during performances, something she's been doing for several years. She released Anourag her first solo album in 1998. It was nominated for a Grammy Award. Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. Because she has performed on every major stage in the world, her career on stage is extensive. The career of Anoushka doesn't only comprise the world of music. She also published Bapi the Love of My Life in the year 2002. The book is a biography that pays tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. Also, she appeared in the film "Dance Like a Man" in 2003. She played a Bharat Natyam dancer in Dance Like a Man. Anoushka's career is still developing and she'll continue to do many great things in the coming years. Anoushka is a native of England however, she spent the majority of her youth split between London as well as Delhi. Then she moved to California and enrolled in the high school. At the age of nine, she began studying music under her father, who made her debut on the sitar 4 years later at the celebration of his 75th birthday in Delhi. Anoushka had the opportunity to acquire numerous valuable experience when she accompanied her father when he toured the world. The tour included appearances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concerts and performing together with George Harrison. It is the House of Commons Shield was presented to her from the British Parliament in recognition of being the most renowned Asian Arts musician. She is the only woman and youngest recipient of this distinction.
